Nothing like a challenge

31 Mar

This Easter weekend I had assumed I was going to have an easy time with a small roast and a day of trash tv. All of this was thrown out of the window when less than 48 hours before I had a call from my mum to inform me that come Sunday I was to be holding an easter egg hunt in my garden, thus begun the challenge to find easter eggs on the Saturday before Easter when most shops have already started stocking up for Christmas.

A quick fight to get to the front of the egg line saw my stood next to three middle aged women complaining that “Ain’t no one go no eggs nowhere” how many double negatives does one need? I gave up there and just hit the normal sweet isle to find some kinder eggs and other small bits.

Move to the morning, I overslept leaving me 2 hours to have a bath, clean the house, write up and hide several easter egg hunt clues for 4 children! There is nothing that gets my arse in gear better than a challenge with an ever decreasing time limit!

With all that planning and some awesome egg clues nothing could stop the final thing being thrown into a child death match when one child didn’t understand that the final “jackpot” was not all for him but an egg each when he proclaimed “I’VE FOUND THREE EGGS”.

Next year with a bit more warning, I may have time to get a bunny outfit, it certainly would have helped keep me warm whilst they hunted.
