3-D artwork and Hobbits

29 Jan

Whilst I await my new screen printing supplies to be delivered by the very nice Mr Postman I am filling my evenings with practising a few new styles and ideas that have been floating around and completing a few Commissions that have come my way.

I love the new Hobbit films and thought the Dwarves themselves would be great to draw with all that hair and textures. So welcome, Fili! A3 ink on bristol board.Image

Moving on from him as he took a long time and to have a break from just black and white inking, I thought why not try some 3-D art.

I wanted to use a few of my watercolour pencils and decided on a star wars clone trooper! And here he is: some detailing lost in the scanning process but I was really glad that he does work and when you look at him from different angles he does look 3-D! He is also extra exciting as although its not many, he has got me my most likes and reblogging on tumblr 😀

I think I will do a few more of these so if anyone has any requests please drop them my way! and for now he is available until the weekend: so if you would like to own him and frame him and show him some love please bid it would make my day 🙂

In which I scan some sketches

23 Jan

I said in the beginning of January I would be trying to draw more and not judge the outcomes, I finally found some time to scan in a few sketches I had lying around for tattoo design ideas, some detail is lost but the idea of them are still viable.

One also I think will make a pretty cracking T-shirt so expect to see some update screen print t-shirts available! On black and white t-shirts.

Sherlock and other news

15 Jan

Already it is the middle of January. Where has that time gone? I have had some fun doing a few ideas and have those scanned in ready to be finished off on the computer but that is a lot of work and I don’t really get on with digital work and so in my procrastination and instead of getting on with those I decided I wanted to start an A3 Sherlock Holmes – Benedict Cumberbatch piece. How could I not when sat watching the newest season?

The husband doesn’t like the style (and after watching a recent episode of Invader Zim shall for a while be known as my love pig) but I am forging ahead with it as it is growing on me and although it can look a bit weird being sat face next to it for hours at a time, when I take a step away it is all fitting into place.

So bring on a few more evenings to finish this guy:

And in some exciting news I got an email back to say my application for a craft stall to sell some original artwork has been accepted for 6th December! Now beings the work to think up some new pieces to do and look into finding a printing company for cheaper prints to be made available. 2014 is going well so far 🙂

Accomplishable goals

1 Jan

Hi to the new followers I have gained in the last day or two!

I figured for 2014 I would have to set a new goal. 2012 and 2013 saw me set the aim of saying Yes to new experiences. This saw me make a great new group of friends, experience new and exciting things and have an all round two great years (even if the wallet did not like the new more out there me!)

So 2014 I am not allowed that goal. Instead I am setting the goal to not be so bloody hard on myself. I know I do it. If I create a new drawing or idea then I will see only the flaws in it and compare to other things that may be similar. If I paint a new piece of furniture, I will only remember the parts where it went wrong and the door fell off even if I can then paint over those errors or glue things back on. I still know. But for 2014 I am going to try and let go of those doubts. Those niggling voices that tell me I can’t do things.

This leads me to starting the new year with two new drawings, one with the aim of not judging myself of how it turned out and the other to remind me that goals are doable as I set off to play Batman Arkham Origins and eat pizza.

Good night all 🙂
